Port of Tallinn opened a seaside Pikksilm promenade, which is an extension of the Reidi Road towards the Old City Harbour.<\/p>\n

On the Pikksilm promenade, walkers, cyclists and people who love athletic lifestyle can enjoy the pleasant sea air and beautiful views of the Tallinn Bay. On the promenade there are seating terraces, a walking and a cycling path and a rubber-covered running track. Henceforth, it will be convenient for passengers with bicycles heading towards passenger terminal D to move to the port just along the Reidi Road and the newly opened promenade. The Pikksilm promenade also protects and hides a shipwreck from the 18th century.<\/p>\n

Port of Tallinn aims to create the seaside city and to make the Old City Harbour area a popular meeting place enjoyed by both, passengers and locals.<\/p>\n

The Pikksilm promenade is 100 meters long and 15 meters wide, with the construction of the promenade, the land area of \u200b\u200bEstonia increased by almost 1,000 m2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The landscape architect of the Pikksilm promenade was Kersti Lootus from Lootusprojekt<\/a> O\u00dc, design was made by Estkonsult<\/a> O\u00dc and the construction work was carried out by\u00a0 YIT Eesti<\/a> AS in cooperation with its subcontractors. The cost of the object was EUR 1.7 million.<\/p>\n
