Ship-operators, including cruise lines and ferry operators\u00a0 now have a unique opportunity to modernize their fleets and meet growing sustainability standards through Estonia\u2019s newly launched \u20ac25 million government grant<\/strong> for green ship retrofitting. This program is one of the most ambitious of its kind in Europe, offering direct state aid<\/strong> to support the greening and modernization of passenger and auxiliary vessels<\/strong> \u2014 including cruise ships, ferries, tugboats, and support craft \u2014 in Estonian ports.<\/p>\n

Eligible projects can receive up to \u20ac5 million in funding<\/strong>, with support rates ranging from 15% to 30% of eligible retrofit costs<\/strong>. Vessels that transition to zero-emission operation<\/strong> may qualify for the highest support rate. Additional criteria, such as the ship\u2019s flag state and frequency of port calls in Estonia, can influence the final support level.<\/p>\n
