Altogether seven winter cruise calls were made to Tallinn.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Winter cruise season in Tallinn was opened on November 29<sup>th<\/sup> <strong><span style=\"color: #2b2b2b;font-weight: normal\">by Fred Olsen ship Black Watch with British tourists on board. Swedish cruise tourists visited Tallinn on Christmas day, two cruise calls from Helsinki were also made, but more than half of the winter cruise tourists came from Russia.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2b2b2b\">Port of Tallinn&rsquo;s head of Marketing and Communications Department Sirle Arro noted that past record breaking passenger year was successful also regarding cruises. &bdquo;Last year showed that Tallinn as a cruise destination is continuing to gain popularity, more than 525,000 cruise tourists visited Tallinn and Saaremaa altogether. That is 84,000 people more than a year ago. Wintry Tallinn also attracts cruise tourists, who arrive both from neighbouring countries and farther,&rdquo; added Arro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2b2b2b\">&ldquo;Winter cruises with Russian tourists stopped in Tallinn four times and brought 5,414 people to Estonia&rsquo;s capital. These are now already traditional New Year&rsquo;s cruises for Russian market with Tallink and St. Peterline cruise ships. First winter cruise with Russian tourists arrived on January 1<sup>st<\/sup> and last one stopped in Tallinn on January 3<sup>rd<\/sup>,&rdquo; explained Arro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2b2b2b\">In 2013 a record number of 9.236 million passengers passed through the harbours of Port of Tallinn. 525,775 of them were cruise passengers.
