Compared to the same period of previous year, the cargo volume increased 2.0%, mainly due to liquid bulk. The growth of the number of passengers decreased by 1.0%. The number of ship calls grew by 4.8% to 1841 calls.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 2018, the annual cargo volume of Tallinna Sadam totaled 20.6 million tonnes, increasing by 7.4% compared to the previous year, mainly due to liquid bulk and ro-ro. The number of passengers increased by 0.6% year-on-year, reaching an all-time record of 10.6 million passengers. The growth was driven by cruise, the number of passengers on Tallinn-Helsinki route remained at the same level as in the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Valdo Kalm, Chairman of the Management Board of Tallinna Sadam, the result of 2018 is satisfying, as the company managed to maintain and even increase cargo volumes in a difficult competitive situation. &quot;For the number of passengers, we reached a record for the 11th year in a row,&quot; Kalm noted.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>More detailed statistics of passengers by nationality, gender and routes on monthly basis, can be viewed on the Port of Tallinn web page: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ts.ee\/statistics\">https:\/\/www.ts.ee\/statistics<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tallinna Sadam is one of the largest cargo- and passenger port complexes in the Baltic Sea region, which in 2018 serviced 10.6 million passengers and 20.6 million tons of cargo. In addition to passenger and freight services, Tallinna Sadam group also operates in shipping business <i>via<\/i> its subsidiaries &ndash; O&Uuml; TS Laevad provides ferry services between the Estonian mainland and the largest islands, and O&Uuml; TS Shipping charters its multifunctional vessel Botnica for icebreaking and construction services in Estonia and <i>offshore <\/i>projects abroad. Tallinna Sadam group is also a shareholder of an associate AS Green Marine, which provides waste management services. Tallinna Sadam group&#8217;s sales in 2017 totaled EUR 121.3 million, adjusted EBITDA EUR 66.5 million and net profit EUR 26.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Additional
