<\/p>\nA new grain terminal at Muuga Harbour has strengthened Estonia’s grain export infrastructure ahead of the harvest season, demonstrating what can be achieved when experienced partners work towards a common goal under an exceptionally tight schedule.<\/p>\n
The project brought together Linas Agro O\u00dc, Bulk & Tank O\u00dc, Best-Hall Baltic and Port of Tallinn to create nearly 30,000 tonnes of grain storage capacity in less than two months. Construction began on 1 June 2026, and the terminal was fully operational by 31 July, ready to receive grain for the busiest weeks of the harvest season.<\/p>\n
At the centre of the project was Bulk & Tank O\u00dc, which managed the development from start to finish. The company coordinated the entire process, including securing the site lease, obtaining permits, arranging financing, managing contractors and overseeing construction works. The result was a complete grain terminal, including supporting infrastructure and two new 4,000 m\u00b2 storage halls supplied by Best-Hall Baltic.<\/p>\n
“A project of this scale requires partners that can make fast decisions and find practical solutions as circumstances evolve,” said Urmas Peterson, Member of the Management Board of Bulk & Tank O\u00dc.<\/p>\n
According to Peterson, the success of the project was driven by close cooperation and a shared commitment to meeting the customer’s needs.<\/p>\n

“What started as a concept on paper quickly became reality. From the very beginning, every decision was made with the end user in mind and with the goal of ensuring the best possible service experience.”<\/p>\n
Bulk & Tank founder Mikko Laaksonen recalls that when discussions first began in spring 2026, the timeline appeared highly ambitious.<\/p>\n
“Building two large storage facilities and all the required infrastructure within a few months seemed challenging at first. However, thanks to committed partners and efficient project management, the objective was achieved in full.”<\/p>\n
Best-Hall Baltic played a key role in delivering the storage facilities. According to Management Board member Leif Kalervo Kempas, long-standing cooperation and mutual trust among the project partners were crucial to meeting the demanding schedule.<\/p>\n
“We knew the timeframe was extremely tight, but previous experience working together gave us confidence that we could deliver.”<\/p>\n
Supporting growth across the agricultural value chain<\/strong><\/p>\n The new terminal gives Linas Agro O\u00dc dedicated receiving, grading and storage capabilities at one of Estonia’s most important grain export gateways. With its own laboratory and dedicated operating team, the company can receive grain more efficiently during peak harvest periods while offering farmers additional flexibility and market access.<\/p>\n The terminal further strengthens the company’s position across the agricultural value chain, connecting farm inputs, grain purchasing, storage and export operations.<\/p>\n Initial market response has been strong, with much of the first storage cycle booked before the harvest season officially began.<\/p>\n Why Muuga Harbour Matters<\/strong><\/p>\n For all parties involved, location was a decisive factor.<\/p>\n Muuga Harbour is Estonia’s largest cargo harbour and one of the country’s most important logistics gateways. Its deep-water berths, rail connections and direct access to international shipping routes make it a natural hub for agricultural exports.<\/p>\n Bulk & Tank’s multipurpose terminal already serves as a logistics platform connecting road, rail and maritime transport.
