Tallinn’s winter cruise season began on November 3 with the maiden call of Mein Schiff Flow, the newest addition to the fleet of German cruiseline TUI Cruises. Delivered in summer 2026, the nearly 333m-long vessel is one of the largest cruiseships ever to visit Tallinn’s Old City Harbour. She arrived with 4,214 passengers on board.
Mein Schiff Flow entered service in June 2026 and is among the new generation of cruiseships designed to reduce environmental impact. Equipped with dual-fuel engines, she can operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG), including renewable bio-LNG. The vessel is also shore power-ready, allowing her to reduce emissions from onboard power generation when connected to suitable facilities in port.
“Tallinn’s winter cruise season has got off to an impressive start with the arrival of one of the world’s newest and largest cruiseships,” says Sirle Arro, head of marketing and communications at the Port of Tallinn. “Calls like this demonstrate that Tallinn has plenty to offer throughout the year. Winter cruises allow visitors to experience the city in a completely different atmosphere while helping to extend the tourism season and create additional opportunities for local tourism businesses.”
Tallinn’s appeal as a winter cruise destination lies in its compact size, with the UNESCO-listed medieval Old Town and major attractions within easy reach of the port, as well as its varied cultural experiences. The city is particularly attractive in the run-up to Christmas, when the historic Old Town and its traditional Christmas market create a festive atmosphere.
At nearly 333m, Mein Schiff Flow is among the longest cruiseships ever to berth at Tallinn’s Old City Harbour and one of the largest vessels serving the German cruise market to have called at the port. Her maiden visit was also a full-capacity call, with all available passenger accommodation sold out.
A total of eight cruise calls are scheduled at Tallinn’s Old City Harbour in November and December 2026. Mein Schiff Flow will return on December 1, while other winter visitors include the luxury expedition cruiseship Le Commandant Charcot, Mein Schiff 3 and AIDAprima.
The winter cruise season will continue into 2027, with a further call scheduled in January and another in March.
The full cruise call schedule is available on the Port of Tallinn website.
