New Marina in the Heart of Tallinn

Estonian maritime sphere needs enlivening and as of this year, the docking possibility in the centre of Tallinn city that has not been available until today, can be marked on the map of an amateur seafarer. Port of Tallinn has decided to give the sea travellers a chance to moor their yacht or boat virtually in the heart of the city – at the Old City Marina located in the Admiralty Basin – and hopes that this will turn out to be the home port for many amateur seafarers.

The Old City Marina, scheduled to be opened in May 2010, will provide 64 pontoon spaces at visitor’s berths for the vessels up to 60 ft and with maximum draught of 4.5 m. The C-terminal of the Old City Harbour has been customised and refurbished to function as the Marina Building with modern amenities for the sea travellers; also the facilities for refuelling and parking spaces for vehicles will be available together with the 24 hour security surveillance on quays.

Due to its location, the Old City Marina will be a perfect venue where to promote and develop Estonian maritime culture with various maritime-related events. Moreover, the boat builders will have a chance to display and present their new models during the spring and summer, which is the most opportune time for it. Marina at Tallinn city centre with the instant availability of test runs would be the best possible location for it.
