Open Seaside City Forum: the New Old City Harbour

Estonian Centre of Architecture in cooperation with the Port of Tallinn and Tallinn City Planning Office Architects cordially invites to “Open Seaside City Forum: the New Old City Harbour” on the 10th-11th October.

The Forum focuses on the Port of Tallinn masterplan 2030 and the Tallinn Seaside Vision to determine common solutions for existing and future developments and to look for ways to combine urban public space with maritime port functions. The aim is to find solutions to organically integrate the port area into the city centre.

City forum public presentations schedule:
10th October 9 a.m – 1 p.m at Port of Tallinn A-terminal arrivals
11th October 1 p.m – 3 p.m. Club Laine (Sadama 25a, at the cruise quay)

Presentations will be by: Zaha Hadid Architects, HafenCity, Tallinn Seaside vision workgroup, and other experts.

The best way to reach a common spatial concept is through a public, in-depth, and varied discussion provided by the format of City Forums. The Centre of Architecture has organized City Forums since 2010. The City Forum is a well-developed format that is suitable for both visualizing spatial developments and for finding practical solutions. On the first day of the City Forum event, presentations of focused topics will take place and also give floor for public discussion. This will be followed by discussions in the invited workgroups, which will provide an opportunity to look for answers to questions that are being asked and to listen to each other and understand different stakeholders and experts.
The results of the discussions of the City Forum are the inputs to the Port of Tallinn and the City of Tallinn and to ZHA’s further activities and decision-making.
