LNG market and infrastructure development in the Baltic and worldwide will be the main focus of this year’s LNG Conference 2017. The event, hosted by Port of Tallinn and Tallink, will be held on 17-18/5/2017 and will feature presentations related to the current LNG market state of the game, LNG supply and distribution and LNG bunkering in the Baltic.
The event, divided into two days, will tackle a wide spectrum of topics currently relevant to the development of the LNG market and infrastructure in the Baltic, while at the same time taking into account the situation on the global scene.
Kadri Simson, Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure, and Valdo Kalm, CEO of Port of Tallinn, will officially open the conference and greet the participants. The first session will feature presentations by the representatives of H Clarkson & Company, Merkel Energy, Baltic Connector and Chart Ferox. LNG supply, demand and pricing, gas market catalysts and deterrents and issues related to LNG storage and transportation will be some of the topics discussed. The session will also feature a presentation by Monika Zsigiri, Policy Advisor at DG MOVE, talking about LNG as a part of the energy security package and its market potential, as well as a discussion panel, moderated by Bogdan Ołdakowski, Baltic Ports Organization’s Secretary General.
LNG supply and distribution will be the focus of the afternoon session. Klaipedos nafta is going to present Klaipeda as a regional LNG hub, while the Rotterdam Gate Terminal will share their thoughts and experiences on LNG distribution from a hub’s perspective. LNG market development and supply chain management will be covered in more detail by representatives from Skangas and Wärtsilä.
Day two is going to zero in on LNG as fuel for shipping and LNG bunkering in the Baltic Sea region. Tallink will share their views on LNG in 2017 from a shipowners’ perspective, while HEROSE are set to examine various LNG application methods. Technology related topics will also make an appearance in presentations by MAN Cryo and RINA Netherlands, tackling efficient fuel gas systems and innovative LNG propulsion systems. DNV GL will offer the participants an analysis of orders and future outlook for LNG fueled ships.
Nauticor, LNG Gorskaya and the Klaipeda Science and Technology Park will be among the companies to speak during the bunkering session. They will deliver presentations covering the ins and outs of LNG supply for maritime customers and an overlook of what’s in store for the Baltic bunkering sector in the coming years.
The participants will get the unique chance to tour the Muuga Harbour, the future location of the planned Tallinn LNG Terminal, developed by Port of Tallinn and Vopak. Perhaps even more exciting, the second day of the event will take place onboard Tallink’s brand new LNG fueled ferry – the Megastar.
Since networking is a key factor in modern business, delegates and speakers will have the opportunity to meet old friends and establish new contacts during a special cocktail evening, organized by the Port of Tallinn. Held at the Energy Discovery Center in Tallinn, the event will certainly deliver a thrilling and special experience.
