Renowned Belgian ecological architect Vincent Callebaut speaks at the Green Cruise Port Seminar

Port of Tallinn invites you to take part in the Green Cruise Port Seminar taking place on 18-19 May in Tallinn, at the Estonian Centre of Architecture. The first seminar day will focus on topics of smart city, smart buildings and smart terminals and the second day on more cruise specific themes. The participation is free of charge.

One of the keynote speakers is Vincent Callebaut, a renowned Belgian ecological architect, who designs futuristic-like ecodistrict projects which take account of several aspects of sustainability – renewable energies, biodiversity and urban agriculture. His futuristic design is part of a greater vision to help European cities transition their built environments towards a post-carbon future.

The first seminar day will also give an overview of Old City Harbour’s design contest “Masterplan 2030”, a smart city approach and Hamburg’s smart terminal case. Other topics to be presented include the investor case on smart buildings, energy sustainable port solutions and other solutions that guide green thinking in port areas.

The second seminar day will focus on cruise specific themes such as smart cruise terminal buildings and innovative port reception facilities, smart solutions of cruise industry and expectations to ports and destinations from cruise line perspective and also smart and green case studies from Ports of Stockholm and Copenhagen-Malmö Port.

Green Cruise Port Project is a EU funded partnership between several cruise ports and stakeholders around the Baltic Sea region.
