At today’s meeting, the Supervisory Board of Port of Tallinn decided to declare a public competition for the posts of members of the Management Board. The company is looking for two new Management Board members; applications can be submitted by 5th of October, after which additional security check will be carried out among candidates.
“The new Management Board has to start with a clean slate, therefore three very thorough inspections will be carried out in the company – in addition to the internal audit and the temporary member of the Management Board, attorney Carri Ginter, special audit by an independent auditing firm will be carried out. An auditor will focus on the analysis and economic expediency of the decisions made by the former Management Board,“ said Remo Holsmer, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
“At the meeting, the Management Board presented a report about the construction of the ferry boats to the Supervisory Board. As a first task, the new temporary Management Board has contacted both, the Polish and Turkish shipbuilding factories, and received oral and written confirmations that contractual terms and obligations continue to be fulfilled by both companies. We can confirm that the construction of the ferries continues as planned and according to the schedule,” added Holsmer.
New Management Board for Port of Tallinn is elected by a new Supervisory Board, which will be appointed by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications during September. Announcements about the competition will be published internationally.
