In Tallinn’s Old City Harbour the Smart Port system is in use for the passengers traveling by car on Viking Line, Eckerö Line and Moby SPL ferries. This means that thanks to the automatic license plate recognition the barriers in port will open automatically and the smart displays will guide the driver to the ship.
On the A-terminal side of the port the Smart Port system has already been in use since Fall 2017. Soon the Smart Port system will launch for Tallink ferries on the Passenger Terminal D side of the port as well.
Port of Tallinn has prepared video guides for passenger car and truck drivers to show how the check-in and the process of driving on to a vessel looks like.
The videos and more useful information for travellers with vehicles can be found on Port of Tallinn’s webpage under the menu "Travelling by car": portoftallinn.com/travelling-by-car
