Tallinn Maritime Days 15-18 July

Tallinn Maritime Days take place from July 15-18, 2017. This year the festival celebrations will last for four days as the world’s biggest sail training regatta visits Tallinn. Tallinn Maritime Days are held in five different harbours in Tallinn: Old City Harbour, Seaplane harbour, and in partner harbours – Haven Kakumäe, Port of Noblessner and Pirita marina.

This year, for the first time in the history of the capital city, Tallinn Maritime Days will bring the magnificent Tall Ships Race fleet consisting of more than 50 sailing ships to Tallinn Bay from many different countries. The size of the vessels range from from 12 meters to 117 meters. Sailing ships of the academic regatta of 2017 are going to visit different ports of Tallinn from the 17^th  to 18^th  July. The grandiose spectacle will definitely take place when Sea Fleet leaves on 18^th July.

This year’s edition of the Tallinn Maritime Days will surprise the audience with a diverse concert programme. Musicians from Estonia and abroad will hit the stage and provide only the best entertainment for the festival.

Saturday night, 15th of July, Maarja-Liis Ilus, Liisi Koikson, Rolf Roosalu and Pärnu City orchestra will perform under the conduction of Jüri-Ruut Kangur at the opening concert in Old City Harbour. In addition, many other renowned artists and bands will hit the stages of different harbours during the Tallinn Maritime Days – Ivo Linna and Supernova, Põhja Konn, Zebra Island, Smilers, Shanon, sounds of the Petrojazz festival and many more. On July 18, the last musical accord will be given by Karl-Erik Taukar, Tanja Mihhailova and Estonian Dream Big Band in Tallinn Old City Harbour.

During the Tallinn Maritime Days Old City Harbour also surprises with an innovation area where the Mektory School of Technology, Centre for Biorobotics and the Estonian Maritime Academy show exciting inventions, simulators and robots. Visitors will have a chance to visit ​robotics workshops, explore U-CAT submarine robot, find out about virtual reality and a lot more in the innovation area.

All the events of Tallinn Maritime Days are free of charge.

Tallinn Maritime Days 2017 is organized by the City of Tallinn, Tallinn Culture Department, Port of Tallinn and Seaplane Harbour. Co-organizers are Sail Training Association Estonia, Kakumäe Harbour, Port of Noblessner, Pirita Municipality, Pirita Harbour.
