The cruise season in Tallinn takes off

April 25th marks the arrival of this season’s first cruise ship, Borealis, to Tallinn. Operated by Fred Olsen Cruises, the vessel carries 1051 passengers, predominantly from the United Kingdom, along with passengers from the USA, Canada, Italy, and other European countries.

Organized by Estonian Holidays, guided excursions will introduce passengers to Tallinn’s main attractions, including the Old Town and Kadriorg. To provide a delightful experience of Estonian culture and lifestyle, cruise guests will also enjoy ballet and folk dance performances, as well as home visits.

Borealis is making its inaugural visit to Tallinn, spending a full day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the city. The ship will return on July 4th. The next  cruise ship –  Le Bellot is scheduled to arrive in Tallinn on Sunday, April 28th.

This year, a total of 100 cruise ship visits are expected, with 11 of them docking in Tallinn for two days. Among them, the largest ships of the season, Britannia and Sky Princess, approximately 330 meters long, can each accommodate nearly 3000 passengers. Conversely, the smallest ships, Hebridean Sky and Clio, cater to fewer than 100 passengers. July 10th is anticipated to be the busiest day, with four cruise ships bringing approximately 7500 cruise tourists to the city.

Cruise ships are set to visit Tallinn from late April to late October, with two additional Christmas cruises bringing passengers to Tallinn in December.

Seven cruise ship visits are booked for the Saaremaa port operated by Tallinn Port, with the first ship scheduled to arrive on July 7th.
